Tears

When they flow

So too the soul.

Released as a dam

Like shackles unbound

Free to be pain

Free to be joy

Free to be felt

When they flood

So too the heart.

Sprung as a spring

Like doors unlocked

No longer kept

No longer held

No longer tense.

And when they burst forth

So too the man.

Shed as a layer

Like unbuckled restraint

Open to be healed

Open to be filled

Open to be whole.

So come and be wept

You thoughts of gladness

Wounds of sadness.

Be free and let be.

Release

And be held.
